Consumer Alert!

Nestle Purina PetCare Company has voluntarily withdrawn Waggin Train and Canyon Creek Ranch brand Dog treat products.  The company has chosen to take this action after trace amounts of antibiotic residue was found in samples of the chicken jerky products. No other Purina products are included in this recall. In addition, Canyon Creek Ranch dog and cat foods are not included in this recall.  For product refund or more information, please contact the Purina Office of Consumer Affairs at 1-800-982-0704 or go to www.waggintrainbrand.com. 

Spay/Neuter Awareness

Our community is experiencing an increasing number of stray and unwanted pets. The importance of spaying and neutering has never been more important. However, the current economy is making it difficult for some pet owners to take this important step. In an effort to bring awareness to the growing pet population and help make a small dent in the problem, Tender Heart donated two $50 vouchers that were used toward a spay and a neuter during the month of December. If you know a family who truly needs assistance, please contact the clinic. It is our intention that this be used only for families who would not be able to afford the surgery for their pet without financial help. Overpopulation is a nationwide problem but we CAN make a difference, one pet at a time.

Tender Heart would like to introduce the newest member of our family.  Dr. Melissa Risan received her veterinary degree from Mizzou in 2010.  She is excited to continue practicing veterinary medicine here in the Ozarks where she was raised.  Melissa shares her home with her four furry roommates, Syren, Dega, Typhus and Gidget.  Away from work, Dr. Risan enjoys riding horses, salsa dancing, and scuba diving.  Senior medicine, opthalmology and soft tissue surgery are just a few areas in which she excels.  We are so excited to welcome Dr. Risan to Tender Heart Animal Clinic and we know that you will love her as well!
